"Summer of Fire" video

The lessons learned from the summer of 1988 when fires burned nearly one third of Yellowstone National Park continue to shape the way we fight wildfires raging across the West today.


Particularly relevant this summer as the Rim Fire destroys 250,000+ acres in and around Yosemite National Park. How can we move from "fighting" unnaturally destructive wildfires to "managing" fire ecology? And how many lifetimes will it take?
